With Open Arms: Gratitude to the Outdoor Community
Share
Starting Woxna was an adventure filled with uncertainty. I wasn’t just trying to create a foldable saw that lived up to Scandinavian traditions of quality and durability—I was stepping into a world I wasn’t sure would welcome me. I had big dreams, no finished product, and while I love the outdoors, I wasn’t exactly the most experienced bushcrafter out there.
But what I’ve found in the community surrounding Woxna has been nothing short of extraordinary.
From day one, you—the people who live and breathe the outdoors—embraced Woxna with open arms. Your warmth, respect, and eagerness went far beyond anything I could have expected. You didn’t wait for the saws to be finished to show your support. Instead, you stepped up in ways that have been both humbling and inspiring.
Some moments stand out especially over the past two months since our launch:
Generous Contributions: Some of you offered to send us beautiful pieces of wood, hoping we might use them to craft unique handles that make Woxna stand out even more. Your thoughtfulness and willingness to share such valuable resources truly touched us.
Design Collaboration: Others debated alongside me over the perfect color for our designs, helping refine the aesthetic and ensure it resonated with our vision and audience.
Marketing Support: Many of you reshared our posts with kind words about the vision we’re working to bring to life, introducing Woxna to a broader audience than we could have reached on our own.
Practical Help: Some of you offered introductions, invaluable marketing advice, or even professional-quality pictures we could use to showcase our work. Your proactive support has been instrumental in helping Woxna grow.
Emotional Encouragement: And when the self-doubt crept in—and believe me, it has, many times—you reminded me why I started this journey in the first place. Your messages telling me to “keep going” have meant more than words can express.
One of the most beautiful things about this group of men on Instagram is how connected they are. Many of you know and trust each other, forming a tight-knit circle of camaraderie that embodies the spirit of the outdoors. Being welcomed into this network feels like being included in a family—one that values authenticity, creativity, and mutual support. It’s inspiring to witness the genuine friendships and shared passion within this community, and we feel incredibly lucky to now be a part of it.
You turned what could have been an isolating, uphill climb into a shared adventure. This experience has taught me that this community isn’t just about gear or skills—it’s about the relationships we build through them. In your words and actions, I’ve found a spirit of generosity and camaraderie that perfectly mirrors the values of the wilderness: strength, patience, and harmony.
To the men who have supported Woxna, not just with your actions but also with your words, know this: your kindness and encouragement mean more than you could ever imagine. Whether it was a simple message telling me to “keep going” or your willingness to help refine the smallest details, you’ve made Woxna feel like it belongs in this incredible community.
This journey is still in its early stages, and we don’t yet know if the company will stand on its own merits. But it feels far less daunting knowing we have your support. As Woxna takes its next steps, I hope we continue to grow—not just as a brand but as part of this community that inspires us every single day.
Thank you for believing in Woxna before there was even a saw to hold!
Finally, with the risk of forgetting someone, I still want to give specific thanks to the men behind the following IG accounts. Your support has meant the world to me and the team at Woxna:
Warmly,
Elma
