Ljusnan 180 mm
Ljusnan is ideal for bush crafters, campers, hunters and anyone else who needs a compact and reliable folding saw. It features a a high-carbon, stainless steel blade with knife-grade quality, so you won't have to worry about rust or tedious maintenance. Whether you're building a shelter, preparing firewood, crafting, clearing paths, or maintaining woodlands Ljusnan will be dependable companion on your adventures into the great outdoors.
No More Rusty Blades
Unlike traditional steel, which can rust and loose its sharpness over time when exposed to the elements, our stainless-steel blades are made with a 10C28Mo2 steel and will endure far better. With a stainless steel blade you’ll have a dependable saw that’s always ready for use. You don’t risk finding a rusty saw in your garage at the start of the season and you can spend less time on maintenance and more time enjoying your outdoor adventures.
Versatility with a 7 TPI Blade
With a teeth pitch of 7 TPI (teeth per inch) these saws can handle both green and dry wood, as well as softwood and hardwood. It is a versatile compromise for all your outdoor needs. These saws are also capable of cutting through other materials such as plastic and bone. But do remember that bone is quite abrasive and will wear down any blade more quickly than wood.
Ease and Efficiency with a 3-phased Grind
Our saws feature a 3-phased grind that saw on the pull, i.e. when you pull the saw towards you. This gives you more control, minimizes the risk of buckling and puts less strain on both you and the saw. The entire blade is hardened to 54-56 HRC. Our tooth geometry also has more spacious gullets which helps to shed sawdust and mulch efficiently, keeping the cutting path clear and reducing drag.
Clean Cuts with a Concave Blade Profile
Unlike saws with set teeth, our blades instead feature a concave grind along the side of the blade to prevent binding. This produces very clean cuts. While set teeth will leave marks on the wood surface parallel to the cut, our teeth are flush with the blade, resulting in fine, smooth surfaces. This design is ideal for tasks like pruning trees, where a clean cut is crucial for the tree’s ability to protect itself and heal effectively.
"The saws turned out just as beautiful as they are functional, I think it has turned out way better than I dared hoping for."

Backpack-Friendly
Timeless Style with American Walnut
Our handles are designed with a timeless style that echoes centuries of hand tool traditions and craftsmanship. The walnut is sustainably sourced in the USA and offers a natural tactile feel. A pronounced stop at the back ensures a secure grip and efficient power transfer as you pull the saw. Each handle is finished with linseed oil, a traditional treatment that protects the surface and enhances the wood’s rich tones and natural beauty. Please remember that since wood has natural variations in color and grain, each handle has a unique character and might not look exactly like in our images.
Each Saw, a Unique Story
We love old tools and have designed our saws to last, and to age with grace. With time, each saw will tell a unique story, bearing the marks of your journeys and adventures. We hope that someone will love it and care for it long into the future and to keep track of its roots, we have etched an individual number on each saw, documenting its origin. You’ll find the number where the blade meets the handle, and hopefully this will be part of a, perhaps small, but great story.
Packaged for Gifting
Our saws are a great gift and they come beautifully packaged in a premium box, making them the perfect gift for any outdoor enthusiast. No need for wrapping paper — just add a bow and you are ready to go.

Choose Size
Our foldable saws are available in in two lengths. The shorter can easily saw branches up to about 4” / 10 cm in diameter and can manage 5.5” / 14 cm. The long saw can easily go through about 5” / 13 cm and can manage 8” / 20 cm.
The larger is more efficient since you can saw with longer strokes. The shorter is of course lighter and more space efficient during transportation but both will fit well in most backpacks. Both can als be carried in a suitable pocket, but in that case the shorter is certainly to prefer.
Choose Model
Our two foldable saws Ljusnan and Hälsing are all based on the same design, the big differences between them are in the choice of materials.
Ljusnan has a stainless steel blade and a dark walnut handle. The stainless steel has great anti corrosion properties and is ideal for tough environments and for those who rather spend their time in the woods instead of on gear maintenance.
Hälsing has a traditional high carbon steel blade with an anti-corrosion coating and a robust oak handle. The carbon steel has great sharpness, edge retention properties and ductility, making them a great choice for more frequent and heavy usage.
Care and Maintanance
Our stainless steel blades have great corrosion resistance but like all
stainless steels, they can eventually rust if exposed to extreme conditions.
After using your saw in tough environments, such as by the sea, it’s a good
idea to clean the blade and apply a protective oil occasionally.
If mulch and saw dust gets stuck between the teeth, it’s easier to get
rid of it while it’s fresh, it tends to get stuck harder when it dries.
Unlike traditional high-carbon steel blades our stainless steel blades can
be resharpened if a tooth becomes damaged or if you have worn it out.
For the handles we’ve chosen American walnut because it is a hardwoods, yet still a natural material. We only treat it with linseed oil to preserve the natural feel, don’t hesitate to apply more when needed.
The saw can be completely dismantled if needed for cleaning or maintenance.
No special tools are required to open the saw, only two torxs T25 screwdrivers.
Please remember that the wood can expand and contract due to changes in
humidity, and this can affect the fitting of the different parts, so we recommend that you avoid dismantling the saw unless it’s necessary. If you dismantle the saw, make sure to put it back together again directly afterwards.
Do not store or attempt to dry the saw close to a heat source, the rapid
changes in temperature and humidity can cause unnecessary expansions and contractions in the wood.
